This Cigar had a nice Firm construction and flawless wrapper. It was firm to touch and slightly oily and smooth. Pre Light the smell was nice with a bit of spice. The band on this cigar is very classy nice marble design with Hefs signature and a small bunny over the top of the HMH monogram. Light I slowly toasted the foot of this one and noted a slight hint of nuttiness as I slowly puffed it to life the draw was perfect and the burn was even with nice full clouds of smoke wafting around my head.
I tasted just a hint of spice which got slightly stronger as the cigar burned. The ash was a grey white and held together all the way to band. In my opinion this one was mild to medium but did not have a lot of change in flavor as it burned but it was a very pleasant smoke.
I smoked this one in my partially finished smoking room I had jut finished hanging the last of the studs for the paneling and figured it was time for a smoke. The temperature in the room was around -3- -4 and the cigar split slightly which concerned me at first but it burned through the split and maintained a nice draw and pleasant taste all the way through. I am sure it was combination of temperature and wrapper type that caused the split as Wilkey explains in detail in on e of his posts.
Overall I enjoyed this cigar immensely and would buy more and smoke as an everyday cigar. It is definitely mild to medium which may turn some folks off. It was perfect afternoon cigar for me with a cup of coffee and a book Mafia wife which has too much wife and not enough mafia in my opinion but it was a pleasant hour of relaxation.
