What a Beautiful cigar, construction appears very solid, beautiful wrapper. Clipped the end easily, nice clean cut. Pre-light draw was perfect, taste is slightly Opus, slight chocolate flavor, but it's surprisingly light, maybe it's the age of the tobacco? Drink of the evening was RZ 23, on ice, it was 85 outside today!

This beauty lit very nicely, 1st tastes were of pepper and wood, very pleasant, very smooth, creamy. Lots of smoke, drew like a dream, didn't have to get it hot to get lots of smoke! Aroma was wonderful, chocolate / tobacco / cedar, like walking into a tobacco shop when they've been cooking chocolate!

Early on, got some slight fruity / sweet type flavor, can't describe it well enough. Had to do a slight touch up about 15 min into this smoke, might have corrected itself, but i didn't wanna let it potentially run.

Ash was very white, and very flaky, didn't ever get any length. About 25 minutes into it, the Opus taste came on strong, nice chocolate taste w/ a slight molasses flavor, very tasty, and stayed until the last 1.5". Some tastes i was able to identify were leather, cedar, cream, and a slight fruity sweetness. This is a very complex cigar, lots of flavors i could not identify, flavor powerhouse.

This smoke lasted 1 hr. 45 minutes, and it was bliss the whole time. This could be the best i've ever smoked, it's like Opus on steroids, and worth every penny, in fact, i'll go buy a few more. Get over the price, and grab some of these while you can, this is a world class smoke, IMO.

Here's a few pics!

Well done Gator!

I recently smoked a three year old OpusX. I caught some the fruity sweetness that you describe. I recall that it was similar to the Ramon Allones profile.

Man................Incredible looking smoke. Sounds like the experience was just what you were hoping for. Thanks for the review Frank.

Man this cigar sounds like an experience. When you say Opus on steroids, are you referring to overall flavor profile and or strength? Thanks for the review and pictures, nicely done.

Excellent pics and review Frank.

I agree with your flavor description, not one you can pinpoint. In fact, each one I have smoked is different. Cannot compare this smoke to Opus in my opinion.
Unless the Opus is 6 years old plus, it's like comparing a yard cigar to a premium. Well, I am not partial to Opus as you well know :whistling:

BTW, why you smoking my stick?

Brian

I'm sending you the band and ashes Brian, what more do you want? Yeah, it's got the Opus profile i'd have to say, but much more complex, more flavors bopping around, and a 6yo Opus still might not quite measure up, but someone send me one and i'll compare . I never commented on the strength: I never felt it was overpowering, it had some giddy-up, but didn't leave that nicotine lump in my throat like i suspected it might.

After reading that I just added another cigar to my "must get" list! Sweet post. Thanks for sharing.

Hrm. That's a connection I've never made. Interesting.

It was interesting for me too, Andrew. It was a super belicoso that my friend has kept in his locker at the Havana Club in Baltimore for 3 years. I was taken aback. It was really good!

Very tantilizing review. makes me want to spend money I don't have (yet).
Thanks for the heads up. Can't find any here so I'm in on a buy in the near future.
