Does anyone have any experience with an Ebay dispute?

I listed my car for sale and paid the $49 fee. Two days later a fraudulent buyer clicked on "Buy it now" which took the ad down.

Ebay notified me that the buyer was fraudulent and would not be paying, but told me if I wanted to list the car again I would have to pay the $49 again. I corresponded with Ebay via email but the phone number they provided was not a working Ebay number. I turned it over to my bank and they dicked with it for 6 weeks and finally told me they could do nothing because Ebay would not communicate with them.

Selling a lot on 3rd party platforms I know that about 75% in cases like these depends on who I talk to when reaching out to customer service. Sometimes you get a knowledgeable and reasonable person and you take care of the problem. But many times you do not.

I think you should call them again and ask to get the listing up again for free since it was not your fault the transaction got cancelled. I think they would go for that vs a refund

Exactly my experience.

I have never been able to speak to anyone. They simply emailed me and left me a phone number that was not in service.

Nice of them to pick $49 as the fee, most credit card companies won't initiate a chargeback for anything less than $50.
