The cooler is about done. just getting a new hygrometer. Speaking that, does anyone have this one:

Click Me Sucka!

I noticed it says, inside/outside temp, which I thought might be good for telling me cooler temp, house temp.

Thoughts??

I've got three of these from Little Havana. Purchased at different times, they recently salt tested on the money. I'd buy another....

I use the Oregon Scientific wireless system in my cabinet. I have three inside units at three different levels in my cabinet. The base sits outside on my desk and gives me the temp and humidity readings.

Ive got one like the one you show from Radio Shack....might be the same model....but it works great. Using the salt test its off by only 2% which aint bad at all for a digital.

YEs. It looks like the same components as the 1030 wireless. I never had any problems.

probe?? temperature?? ... man KB watch where you stick that thing! :p

BlindedByScience,

how long do the batteries last in the 'cigar-shaped' hygrometers?

Are there any that tell you how long you were at the high/low temp/humidity? Mine shows high and low on both, but I dont know if it dropped to that for a few minutes or several hours.

Had mine about 8 months...not really a battery meter per se, but the display is still bright and when it dims, that's usually a decent indication that they are getting weak. Good news is that they use very common button batteries so it should be pretty painless.

My three all tested exactly on the mark (salt test) and I have to say - I'm really pleased with them.

I have the Oregon scientific wireless as well. Got it for 24.99 at target on sale. Salt tested spot on and is expandable for when my cooler runneth over :whistling: .

I have a little havana one and an oregon scientific wireless that I got from target. I use both at the same time.

Those WiFi hygrometers sound great, http://www.oregonscientificstore.com/searc...rase=hygrometer I might have to buy one as I did the salt test all day yesterday and my digital hygrometer is 6% off. I don't know if you guys worry as much about your cigars as I do, well not worry, but more like when I am thinking about something I wonder how those little guys are doing :) I would have the reciever right next to my bed and only then would I have a good night sleep :)

One of my friends has a hygrometer from Little Havana (CP name ekans). It's a nice little meter. Been thinking of buying one myself.

The receiver even has a self setting clock, alarm and light on it so when you wake up in a sweat to check the thing you won't wake up the wife. :)

New Western Caliber III seemed to be good to. Depending on the size you need.

I just bought two and both were exactly one percentage point off (the same way) after a 24 hour salt test.

FWIW

I have the Radio Shcak version as well, which salt tested only 1% off - so far I love it!

I also bought a second as a backup, but if anyone needs one I could let it go...?

well, technically they did, but I believe they have a different model that looks almost identical you can get. If not, Oregon Scientific makes one most people are happy with. but, that's why I bought an extra R.S. model, in case the others were hard to get.
