I found several reviews of this upon searching, but figured I'd add my own quick review and pictures to the forum.

Cigar is a Diamond Crown Maximus Toro... #4, I think. I got this from a friend who got this box while we were still in Iraq, so these have over six months humidor time on them.

Construction was great. Dark oily wrapper. Sliced off the cap cleanly with my Xicar. Pre-light draw was actually perfect. The last few of these I had were really tough draws. This was was spot on. The pre-light draw always has a chocolate tobacco taste to me and was the same here.

I toasted the foot and lit this up. With the lighter draw, the smoke wasn't as plentiful as I expected. It was there, full of flavor, though. The flavor was woody, earthy and great, so I kept on a puffin.

The flavor on this cigar was like a roller coaster ride. Woody earth and then a hill of spice would hit. Nothing overwhelming, but it was there and left a good aftertaste. Then it was back to earthy woody for an inch or so and another hill of spice. It was back and forth like that for the entire cigar.

Overall, as expected, these are a great medium bodied cigar with quite a bit of flavor, but I wish they were stronger. I still give these an 8 out of 10 and would never turn one down. :)

Nice review! I have to try these sometime soon. Excellent color on that wrapper. Thanks

On of my favorites... don't think I've had a bad one yet.

The two or three I had before this had really tight draws. Even my friends complained about tight draws with the ones they smoked. Still pleasurable and tasteful, though. Maybe this one sat long enough or was at the right humidity to open it up.

Thanks for the comments. :)

had my first DCM #4 last week. it had at least six months humi time. gave me the biggest buzz I've ever gotten from a cigar. darn fine smoke tho.

Nice review...I still have a sealed box from '03 in the humi. Time to think about breaking it open. One my favorites.

That size was my first DCM, and if I had to list my top 5 smokes, that cigar would be there.

Thanks for the review. I see these always rated high but haven't yet had enough incentive to go try 'em out yet. The price is also somewhat up there.
