I found several reviews of this upon searching, but figured I'd add my own quick review and pictures to the forum.
Cigar is a Diamond Crown Maximus Toro... #4, I think. I got this from a friend who got this box while we were still in Iraq, so these have over six months humidor time on them.
Construction was great. Dark oily wrapper. Sliced off the cap cleanly with my Xicar. Pre-light draw was actually perfect. The last few of these I had were really tough draws. This was was spot on. The pre-light draw always has a chocolate tobacco taste to me and was the same here.
I toasted the foot and lit this up. With the lighter draw, the smoke wasn't as plentiful as I expected. It was there, full of flavor, though. The flavor was woody, earthy and great, so I kept on a puffin.
The flavor on this cigar was like a roller coaster ride. Woody earth and then a hill of spice would hit. Nothing overwhelming, but it was there and left a good aftertaste. Then it was back to earthy woody for an inch or so and another hill of spice. It was back and forth like that for the entire cigar.
Overall, as expected, these are a great medium bodied cigar with quite a bit of flavor, but I wish they were stronger. I still give these an 8 out of 10 and would never turn one down.
