Just a short drive from my job is Freeport's Nautical Mile. . And when the weather is nice, there's no better place to take my lunch break. With Friday being the first 70* day of the year, I headed out.

Down the very end of the mile is a gazebo with a couple of benches. This is my usual spot. If it's too hot in the sun, I can hang under the gazebo, and if it's not, I there's plenty of space to hang in the sun. Just to give you an idea of what I get to look out at...

The soundtrack: A few seagulls, the occasional goose, a boat every now and then, and the wind. Couldn't ask for a better setting so close to home.

The beverage: Seltzer. Just a little something light to go along with the smoke.

Prelight draw was near perfect. Loose enough where I could get plenty of smoke, but tight enough that I felt I was smoking, and not sucking on a straw.

The first third was somewhat mellow. I've only had a couple of smokes from the DCM line, but I remember them all being powerful. It wasn't mild by any stretch, just not as strong as I remembered. What impressed me the most early on (and as I continued smoking) was the construction. Despite a pretty good wind, the burn stayed straight the whole time.

The power I remembered really started to show in the second third. Plenty of leather, with hints of black coffee. Again, the burn stayed straight. Only at one point was there a small piece of wrapper that didn't burn, but it quickly corrected itself.

The final third or the cigar, and it started to mellow back out. It was a lot like the first third: a little bit of leather, but none of the strength I saw in the middle. Still enjoyed the hell out of it, though.

And with that picture, unfortunately, it was time to return to work. Still enough of the cigar left for me to get back to the office without having to go through withdrawals. The hour down there defintiely made the last couple of hours in the office much more tolerable.

I love this cigar. And, it seems to me, you just don't hear much about them, with the exception of the Stanford's 90th. And that's just fine with me. If too many people start talking about it, maybe we'll only see them a couple times a year. :D

Good review, great pictures. Looks like a beautiful play to have a smoke. I have seen these cigars a few time, and haven't been sure if I should grab some to try. Think I will now.

Thanks for the review and the great pictures. I have had a couple of these, one good and the other just ok. I have a couple more I am letting age a bit to see how they are.
