So I thought I'd take a stroll through the liquor mart for a little something to sip on before heading to my parent's place for Thanksgiving dinner. A couple wine sampler kiosks were set up, but I was looking for some scotch, bourbon, or something similar. Just as I headed towards the rye section, my eye caught sight of a nice looking bottle with deep amber contents. I start reading the label and right when I finish the name, I heard a woman asking if I wanted a sample. Well... does a bear s#it in the woods?
She poured me a small sample. I tried to smell it, but my nose was a little stuffed from a cold that just set in yesterday. Took a little sip, and wow! This has got to be the smoothest tasting rye I've ever had! Velvety is almost how I'd describe this, with no harshness or burning feeling. I asked the demo lady a few questions about it, and decided to pick up a bottle of it.
Not only was it a wonderful tasting whisky, it was inexpensive too! At $23+change I couldn't believe this was the "entry level" label of theirs. They also had a reserve blend available. I'm sure the reserve will be the next bottle I buy. I can't wait to taste this with a nice cigar!
