Cigar Lovers, take notice....

Since RTDA 2005, I've been working on a revolutionary online B2B business model that is sure to fire things up at the retail level. I approached some big names at last year's convention that loved the idea of making some hard-to-get deals available to smaller shops across the country. It's a fairly simple concept in which all who participate can save some serious cash.

But I won't do the song and dance here. Visit our site for more information.
www.cigarliquidator.com

Read about what we're doing, sign up, and wait for the deals. If you've got any questions, feel free to email me.

you gettin' any?

(I know this is my first post so I would expect some skepticism. A little about myself... I've been in the cigar biz for about 10 years. I've worked for several big companies in the industry, am part owner of Cigar Liquidator, LLC and run an independent representation and consulting business in Pennsylvania covering 5 states. The online community knows me very well on other boards but apparently not here. Some of you who frequent other boards may already know who I am but I'd rather shed more light on what my company is doing rather than on myself.) ???

Are the deals you're offering hard to get, or are the cigars in the deals hard to get? What I'm wondering is whether or not you'll actually be offering any premium brand cigars? Or if (as the name liquidator implies) you'll be offering deals on cigars that no one else could sell, or no one else wants.

One thing you'll notice around here is that the vendors who do well with us have taken the time to get to know us, which in turn educates them as to what types of cigars to offer us deals on. For example, the obvious, if you're going to be "liquidating" any premium Padron or Fuente products that would be of great interest to us.

Good luck.

I appreciate your candor and understand your concerns.

First, to clarify, Cigar Liquidator's initial launch will be a B2B environment and will not have offerings for the general public to purchase. The deals offered on the site will be sold to retail shops only.

The deals themselves have been hard-to-get for most retail shops and they may or may not include hard-to-get cigars. If you find something you're interested in on the site, we'll let you know who made the purchase and how to get in touch with them.

Cigar Liquidator will not have prior knowledge of the deals posted to the site.

The name 'Cigar Liquidator', to most, may signify unwanted or unsellable product from people in the cigar business that just didn't make it. The perception is understandable, but we look at it differently. To 'liquidate' is merely to turn product into cash. Thus, I'm sure you'll see premium 'firsts' up for grabs by reputable manufacturers simply looking to fill store shelves with quality product.

Interesting idea. So a BTB with a retail "referal" aspect. I look forward to watching the launch, and seeing what kind of deals are made available.

Actually if I read correctly its not a bad idea, its not uncommon for a shop to have say 4 boxes of pardon annie’s and cant for the life of them move the things. Another shop can’t keep the things in stock and sells out, from what I read they would brokerage a deal to unload the unwanted annie’s to where there wanted. It would be great cigar distribution to have something like this plus it sounds like good deals direct from manufactures.

Best of luck.

Since almost all of us here are consumers, how do we fit into this formula?

That's a good question with a fairly simple answer.

Someone's got to smoke these purchases somewhere down the line. If there was a particularly intriguing cigar on the site that you just had to have, wouldn't you want to know where to get it?

:D

Now I am confused. You said your site was going to B2B.

So are you going to post the products you have "brokered" on your site for indivuduals or are you going to sell/distribute the mailing list you are building.

Not sure I like the idea of the latter.

Isnt this idea actaully just providing an avenue for non authorized retailers to sell cigars at a significanlty marked up price. We already see enough of that.

Just curious.

Products will be posted to our site for sale only to bona fide retail establishments across the US. (Hence, B2B) We'll encourage them to pass the savings on to you but can't tell them how to run their businesses. But you can. You're the customer.

Any and all information we collect from our registrants will be held in strict confidence. We will never give or sell your information to anyone. But we will offer retailers the service of broadcasting sales and specials to you through us if you opt-in for it. No one outside of CigarLiquidator.com will know anything about you (including your email address) unless you tell them yourself.

I apologize for not posting answers immediately. As I mentioned in my first post, I'm on the road quite a bit and only get to check correspondence once a day.
