Deadliest Catch fans...

Almost forgot! As I was down in Homer on the 21st of March, I past this boat tied up in the harbor. Any of you that watch 'The Deadliest Catch' on Discovery Channel may recognize the name of the boat. The Hilstrand family is a big name in Homer... they own and run a number of businesses there. I've actually seen Jonathan in a bar when I was there last year. There is all kinds of 'Time Bandit' memorabilia for sale there... books, sweatshirts and so on.

Sorry for the lousy photo... taken with a friends iPhone since I didn;t have a camera with me.





I'll be dropping crab pots in Kachemak Bay this summer while fishing so maybe I'll ask for advice the next time I see them...

none yet.... just bought all the stuff (no, that was not what got me in hot water!). But a friend that lives there and runs a water taxi will pull up anywhere from 3-15 keepers. Not big King crab, but the only allowed ones to keep are Tanner crab (relative of the snow crab)

Season does not start until July 15 so I'll have to suffer till then
