Well I was in the smoke shop and decided to pick up a Davidoff as I haven't had one in ages. When I first started smoking it was one on my favorite smokes and I was always exited to get my hands one one. Having tried the thousand series, millinium blend, and Special >>R<<, I decided to give the Grand Cru a try.

Prelight... the cigar looks and smells simply wonderful, the wrapper is veinless and a perfect shade of brown, the cigar is firm to the touch but not hard.I clip the the cigar w/ my Xikar and take in the wonderful aromas, the best leaf and rollers were used no doubt.

Light.. the cigar lights easily and quickly and reward the palate w/ the refined creamy nutty flavor that only comes from aged conneticut shade, the taste is very refined and balanced. As it smokes down I also detect a floral aroma, this is a great smelling cigar and fills my balcony w/ bluish smoke. The burn is razor sharp and the ash long and tight.

As it smokes further down it becomes more full bodied and spicy, but never harsh, and leaves my lips tingling, I don't quite nub it as it's a 41 ring guage and is getting very hot.

Final impression... I'm a bit up in the air about this cigar, my tastes have certainly changed to the more full bodied cigars, but I'm still always impressed w/ the consistency of the Davidoff line. With that said I think there's many good Dominican/ Conn shade cigars on the market I like more such as the Ashton Cabinet, also there's probably better cigars for the price, I find myself really enjoying these cuban Jose L Piedras for $2 a piece.

I'm not wearing any pants, and it's SOOOOO refreshing...
