Lonnies
Churchills
Lanceros

Let's hope the 'word' is not valid.

It will be a sad day!

Woah, these line specific????  Or across the board????  PLEASE DON'T SAY ACROSS THE BOARD!!!

Dang, those are vitolas that I actually prefer in their offerings. Go figure.

Same here! Especially the Lonsdale and Lancero's

Could be economics. If they can almost make 2 petite coronas at $11.50 each out of the same amount of tobacco used to make one lonsdale at $17.00 each, that could be their motivation. Especially if the smaller ring cigars are outselling their bigger counterparts.

That would an interesting question to ask their Rep....or any cigar Rep for that matter.

It's preference.

Today's folks are looking at broader and shorter cigars.

Take the Cuban RyJ line...all the 'short' 'wide' etc churchills.

But yes, I'm sure the tobacco has some part of it...just maybe not a lot.

I knew about the Millennium Churchill and Lancero, but the Lonsdale was news to me.  They are indeed phasing out the Millennium Lonsdale as well.  No real reason I've heard for getting rid of those sizes other than they were the slowest selling sizes in the line. Along with those Millenniums they also discontinued a couple sizes in the Mille line: 3000, 4000 and 5000.  I have also heard they will most likely pull the entire Winston Churchill line.  I'm not sure if they are getting rid of the line or if they are pulling it to re-brand it since neither the bands nor really the boxes say "Davidoff" anywhere.  I just checked, the boxes have small print that says the cigars are made for Davidoff.

It sounds like full boxes of those discontinued Millenniums are nearly gone now.  I believe they have a pretty decent amount 4 or 5 packs of the Millenniums so those discontinued sizes should be available for quite a while.

Well this really isn't what I wanted to hear.  Anyone having any closeout deals on the Millennium Lonesdals?????

Interesting to see the lancero go away.  It looks like there's a trend for lanceros seeing how many other houses are bringing one out.

Hmmmm...may have to find a box of lonnies!

:D

I can check what kind of inventory they have and maybe we can put together some kind of closeout deal for the Millennium Lonsdales.  Last time I spoke with Davidoff it sounded like the Millennium Lancero was nearly at it's end; I think they still had a decent amount of Lonsdales available.  If I can get something going with the Lonsdales I'll post a deal over in the Retailer section.

Thanks,
Eric

Cool.

As for the Lancero, we knew about those going away...what...10 months ago or so.

The Lancero was the first to be announced.  Davidoff never notified me about the Lonsdales.  I called about the Millennium Churchill; no full boxes and they're low on the 4-packs so these will be done soon.

All this Lancero and Lonsdale talk makes me wish they made one of those sizes in their Davidoff Nicaragua line.  Going to have to settle for the Diadema they're adding to the Nicaragua Series.

Great discussion- maybe I should get into the Davidoff line but they are so damned expensive
