I saw this at my B&M today and it seemed like a really good deal @ $125. Anyone familiar with it or know if that is a good price?

EDIT: After consulting with the resident expert it looks this is an amazing deal on this scotch. It seems to be a very hard find and it usually sells for at least double this price. That being said, I know I can get my hands on a case (6 bottles) and so far 4 are spoken for. If anyone else is interested the price is $145 shipped. LMK, thanks.

Good to hear! I cracked mine open for a thanksgiving treat and shared it with a few friends and family and they were all blown away. I am not an experianced scotch drinker but there were so many flavor and aroma profiles that I spent a good while just swirling it in the snifter. It was truley a wonderful thing.

EDIT: BTW AVB, how is that review coming along? I need a point of reference so I can compare notes while enjoying a glass..

I had a small glass last night and your right a lot of flavors great smooth taste starts out sweet and finishes STRONG. I dont know what proof this is but it's got to be over 100.

I thought the same thing and took a look at the bottle to verify my suspicion. Sure enough that stuff packs a stiff alcohol punch that is disguised oh so well by age.

I was waiting to post my thoughts on this Scotch after some have tried it. Its just too alcoholic taste for me. Maybe in time I will get used to it but at this point in time I dont see it happening since it doesnt sit to well with my stomach problems.

I had some of Mr Peats bottle. I don't like to put any water with my scotch but I just couldn't drink this straight. It had a amazing nose but the flavor was so overwhelmed by the alcohol. I first put a few drops to break the surface tension. Then I poured a little more in! I ended up with about 1/4 water! I think Opusxkc had to put 4 ice cubes in his. One of the few scotches I think would be better not in cask strength! JMO

Yea, I put about 4 cubes in with two fingers of this. It is definitely a potent little drink. Beyond the alcohol is a nice bouquet of apple and waxy honey. I enjoyed it, but at the same time I could have ran a jet plane off of it :laugh: .
