Cusano Corojo Vintage 1997 Torpedo
Size - 6x52
Wrapper - Ecuadorian Corojo
Binder - Mexican Binder
Box - Bright orange
Price - About $5 per stick
Drink - Strong coffee w/ cream

This is my third cigar from the box and wanted to smoke a few before passing final judgement.

The overall feel of the cigar is nice, smooth and oily, and almost soft to the touch. The first draw is strong and woody then starts to mellow. Notes of leather and grass (almost too much).

Halfway through now. Grassy notes still there but the leather went away, not as spicy as before. Draw is very smooth. Very light smoke plume and almost white ash.

Three fourths through. Draw is stil excellent. Ash is soft but still together. Grassy notes still there.

End. Burned clean and even. Finished without any bitter notes. Snubbed at band.

Summary:

Overall an OK smoke (6 on a 1-10 scale w/ 10 being highest). I was expecting more from a cigar that CA rated so high. I think the grassy undertones ruined the spicy leather and wood I was looking for. Not a bad smoke but there are many others I would buy before trying this again. Still have 16 in my humi.

Thanks for the review angry. I have the cusano on my list to try.The cigar might just need a couple of months to smooth out and maybe the grassy notes you described will go away. But, the leather and spice you described sounds good. PM me if you would want to part with some of these. I would be interested in trading.
