Recently went to my local tobaccoist and picked up a coupla Cuesta Rey #1's. Had plenty of yellow in the cello. Partook of one of em Sunday while reading the paper. This had to have been my first 'aged' smoke cause I can't keep my hands off em after purchase. I suppose if I would dive into purchasing boxes, that wouldn't be a problem.
Anyway, it was a Wonderful smoke. Mild to Medium and just the smoothest darned thing I've had yet. Yesterday, I had to return to the shop and see how many there were left. I noted to the manager what I had found and he proceeded to point me to a box that was half way hidden of CR Anniv #1's that had been sitting there since about '96. Drat it, only 3 left. Well, not anymore!
Moral of the story:
* the CR-#1 maddie was a great smoke - had to guess it was about 2 yrs old.
* let your local guy know you know what you're talkin about, he'll lead you to the right boxes without having to dig.
