I have never tried Cuban coffee. Do you have a sampler set? I would be interested in trying something new.

I ordered a 1/2 pound of Crystal Mountain this morning. But, hmmm... the link now reports this...

Due to quality issues, the most recent Crystal Mountain shipment has been rejected.
We do not anticipate another stock of this until the next harvest, which should occur during early spring 2004.

If you have ordered this product since 22 December 2003, we will substitute your order with double the quantity of Cumbre Lavado.

We apologize for any inconvenience. We appreciate your understanding and we appreciate your understanding of our solid commitment to the quality of our coffees.

Anyway, PG, I'll let you know how it (whatever I get) turns out! :D

Hi Blair.

Has any of this taken place?

All orders ship via UPS, FED EX, Airborne Express or Canada Post. Except where noted or otherwise requested, coffee orders are shipped within 24 hours of roasting. In the event of a delay, we will contact you by phone or email. We generally roast and ship Mondays and Thursdays. We do not roast or ship on Fridays. Orders received late afternoon Thursday through Sunday will be roasted and shipped on Monday. We do not want your coffee languishing in a warehouse over the weekend. Once packaged and a commercial invoice generated, we will email you your tracking number and instructions for tracking your package

I took this from their site.

I never got any notice from them regarding the shipment. Although it is possible that they send confirmation and it went into my junk folder and was deleted. I do go through my junk (or spam) folder to make sure that there is nothing there that shouldn't be be deleted, but I may have overlooked it. Either way, I should have gotten something by now. I sent them an email yesterday so I'll wait to hear back from them tomorrow. Also, I have verified that they were paid.

Update....

On the 13th (January) I received the following...

I would like to first offer my sincerest apologies for the delay in filling your
order.

Unfortunately, due to the very recent tightening of restrictions on food imports
by the United States Food and Drug Administration as a result of the US
BioTerrorism Act and the most recent outbreak of Mad Cow Disease, we have
experienced a severe backlog due to orders being returned to us by United States
Customs requiring additonal, detailed information about package contents
contained in the commercial invoice.

We are working as quickly as possible to satisfy United States food entry
requirements and fill orders as quickly as possible.

Your patience, as well as your understanding of our need to work within US FDA
food import requirements, is appreciated.

Should you have any questions regarding this, or require aditional information,
please do not hesitate to respond to this email.

Thank you,

Peter Beaupre,
CafeCubano

So, as of now, I am still waiting. ???

lol... so the FDA is worried that you are trying to smuggle in a small chunk of mad cow-infested beef?

I hope you got your money back, if not than you got screwed.  . It appears that this site is definetly a place to stay away from. They seem to have lots of excuses in not sending the coffee, and still no product. If I was you, I would ask for my money back!!!!

I'm with PG. You ordered this coffee over a month ago, and the Mad cow issue was an issue then, so they should have informed you of this.

They boast being able to send you items via FedEx, etc. . . which implies that you get the product quickly. YET IT HAS BEEN OVER A MONTH.

If you paid via Credit Card, I would call my credit card company and demand a charge back. Waiting now over 5 weeks is being MORE than patient.

Thanks for letting us know about this company. I was interested in their product, but in view of your problems. . .I will definately steer clear.

Sorry for your problems man. :( :(

Anyway. . . HAPPY SMOKES! ! !

STEVE

Blair, ask for your money back, this is wrong. He's doen the same thing to a couple other friends. They've both received their money credited back.
