Got around to smoking one of these this morning. I really like this double perfecto shape, they are so easy to light.

I expected a kick-ass smoke, given the size and wrapper color, but I was greeted with a mild but full-flavored cigar that burned fairly well (only one touch-up needed) and produced generous amounts of richly-flavored smoke.

This was from '03 so I didn't really expect much, but even at this young age it was delicious. Nothing fancy in flavor, just rich Cuban tobacco. Also a really nice bouquet.
Pre-light sniffing and draw had a hint of spiciness, but this was not born out in the smoke.

Highly recommended.

Cuaba's are some of the tastiest smokes, IMO. I have a couple of the Generosos (2nd smallest) from 97 or 98. They are a treat, for sure.

I really enjoy the Cuabas. I've heard stories of inconsistency, but they've proven to be one of the most consistent ISOM's I've encountered.

Tasty.

Guess I'm gonna have to try these. For some reason Cuabas have eluded my interest so far. I've always heard they're very mild. I'm not a big fan of some of the other mild Havanas such as Fonseca and QDO. How would you compare the Cuabas to these?

I, too, was impessed by this sucker. They have 2 sizes in the shop here in town and I just got around to trying them. One of the better mild-med smokes I've had, especially since I prefer the Dark and Strong types usually. This made a refreshing change and I was very satisfied.

I get what you're saying about the Fonsecas. I've got a box of the KDTs and Delicias in my cooler that are languishing for just that reason. As the first Cubans I'd tried, I was impressed, but after the many others I've had the opportunity to smoke, they no longer measure up.

The Cuaba is a horse of a different color. While mild, they have a flavor profile that I find to be very distinct and unique to them. I think they are definitely worth a try, just to savor a different Cuban flavor than the big guns from the island.

I've had a few of these as well and Bob's review and follow up is right on the money

They're not on my top five list of Havanas BUT any Havana is a GOOD Havana as far as I'm concerned
