Played a round of golf yesterday. It was breezy with winds in about 15-20 mph. Not exactly the ideal condition to smoke, but hey, golf and cigars go hand in hand.

This was my first smoke of the round. As most tapered shaped cigars go (Hemingways come to mind), the initial draw feels tight... until it burns away the tip and starts to open up. This one was no different. Once it got going, the flavor was exceptional. By no means a full bodied smoke, but definitely smack dab in the middle of medium bodied. It's unfortunate I had to set this down everytime I had to go hit... or go find my ball... but it stayed lit. A couple of relights to help smooth out the burn. Again, that wind wrecked havoc on the experience.

Overall- 8.5 out of 10. Probably would've been a lot higher if I actually got to sit down and enjoy the smoke instead of worry about breaking windows with my golf ball.

Good review Fish. I'm hoping to get my hands on one of these shortly, or the Salomone. I've heard good things.

I had one last week as well. Driving to Indy for the BIG 10 tournament. I have kept these in the humidor for more than 5 years and have been smoking them periodically since receiving them. For me the burn is always somewhat troublesome. The flavor is good and you are correct, somewhere in the middle strength. They do not seem to have improved significantly with the years of aging. Since I just spent a bunch of $$'s and got a box of Salomones I hope, after some aging, they turn out to be better than the Generosos.

Ah yes golfgar, more often than not, I experience the same thing with Cuabas. Oh and BTW WELCOME to CP!!! I have a Salamones that's sitting around waiting for me to find the 1 1/2 + hours of time it'll take to finish off that bad boy :p

Great review Michael

This is one of the reasons I don't enjoy cigars on the golf course.... Lets just say if the golf carts we ride in, were like the school bus` we went to school in- I'd need to ride the short golf cart on the course :( My golf "game" (and I use the term loosely) sux.

Great review Fish... I was lucky enough to get one of these from Michael in my recent pass- and I really enjoyed that cigar alot. And since I didn't smoke mine on the golf course, let me assure you the burn problems are not there when you smoke the cigar in a calm enviroment ;) It was incredible!

Thanks for the review Michael- AND THE CIGAR! :D

Cat 86, I take it you have not yet smoked a Salomones?
