My favorite size of smokes are these "new" 444 sizes. You know, 4" x 44 ring. I recently picked up a sampler from JR's featuring four brands. The sampler include the H. Upmann Vintage Cameroon 444, Montecristo Afrique 444, Montecristo 444, and the TTT Trinidad 444. I let the cigars rest in my humidor for a few weeks before lighting a couple up.
First was the H. Upmann Vintage Cameroon 444. This was a very nicely constructed cigar that fired up easily with a good draw and even burn. The flavors of this cigar are mild and to me seemed to be coffee like. In fact when I was describing the cigar to a friend I used the example that it was like drinking a cup of espresso. Very nice! I will be picking up some more of these since I've only got two left from the sampler.
Second was the Montecristo 444. I was impressed with the construction of this cigar. The wrapper was very finely veined, and had a nice coffee with cream color. Initially the cigar seemed to be spicy, but that spice turned to bitterness right away. I'm not sure if it was burning too hot, but that harshness never went away. About 3/4 of the way I had to stop. I figure I'll let the other two that I have rest for a few months and try again. Hopefully they'll improve since they look so good.
