So I just recently got a 3 tiered 4 window humidor, it is my first one:

http://prestigeimportgroup.com/milano-counterdisplay-humidors.htm

Anyway, It came with two aqua foam pads, which I'm assuming I should just get rid of, but because of it's height I was unsure whether or not beads lined on just the bottom of the humidor will suffice, and if I need to use multiple beads (it came with two aqua foam packs, not sure if they were purposed to go on bottom or one bottom/one top). Also, does anyone know how to remove the hygrometer for calibration? I'm afraid to try and end up breaking it trying to pull it out and then lose the seal.

I'm new, and I have read many posts and forums on seasoning the humidor, I just want to make sure I get started right before I even start to season the humidor.

It would be best for you to introduce yourself. Especially before you start asking for advice. Please try and do that as it is polite.

As for your questions, it would be best to see a picture of the humidor. Them I could give you some advice.

Very nice humidor!
I looked at that one but I wanted a humidor that would hold more.

Never had that issue on a forum board before, but I apologize. I guess I will start with my name is Jon and I have been enjoying cigars for just a few years now (mostly just a social activity). I enjoy the ritual of smoking and have decided that I need a new hobby and collecting cigars and maintaining/aging them seems very exciting for me. So far my favorite cigar has been the Montecristo #4 which my friend's father got for him as a wedding gift, they are fantastic cigars.

As for the pictures, I wasn't quite sure how to get them on the post, hence the link; there are pictures of it there.

I agree! I wanted something larger than just a desktop humidor and I am sure this will fill up pretty quickly. I don't really have the means to spend TOO much money on cigars in the pretty near future, so I plan to collect more slowly and realize this will only last me maybe a  year or two.

Would you walk into someone's house unannounced? I am not trying to be a dick, things are done differently here. There is a certain protocol we all follow. If you do the same you will enjoy your time here more. I agree it is different than other forums.

As for your question. A few beads on the middle shelf should do you fine.

I realized that, and that was why I apologized :)

Nice looking humi and I, like you started small and now into a 600 count. Highly suggest you look at Padron, Fuente, Drew Estate and Cohiba. Careful shopping will save your funds. Welcome to CP and don't be a stranger, there are excellent folks here.
