I did a search for this, but didn't quite find what I was looking for. I'm about to go pick up one of those 120-quart jobs from Wal-Mart, and I was wondering how to go about putting shelves in it if I were to stand it on its end. I've seen where people have done it, but I haven't seen where they said how they went about it. Any help would be appreciated.

Eric, if I'm not mistaken most of those coolers have edges on the inside. I have seen several coolers with shelves using the wire shelving you can get at Home Depot or Lowes. They can cut it for you to the size you would need.

Some models of coolers have slots formed into them that accept plywood dividers. When the cooler is stood on end, these dividers become shelves.

Sooo...check before you buy that the model that you're looking at has these slots.

The one model that I know has them is the Igloo 150 qt. model they sell at Costco.

Yeah, your cooler interior should have molded slots on each side if stood up vertical. For this, you can custom cut spanish cedar sheving to fit tight (with vent holes/slits), then purchase the plastic "L" angles with adhesive on both sides (from Home Depot).

But as long as the shelving is properly cut for a tight fit, it should justwedge in between the cooler (molded) slots and easily hold your cigar boxes as is. The "L" angles are a great idea for as added support.

Good Luck!

Eric, Lori really wanted that pink stroller... :sign:

I made sure the cooler I bought had slots in it for wire shelves. I bought one long shelf and was able to cut it with bolt cutters to size.. Make sure you use the plastic end caps on the cut ends, helps keep the shelves nice and snug.

Let me know if ya need better pics, I an send ya better pics of what mine looks like.
