Well they were trying to spell Connoisseur and said screw it - we'll keep it Connossieur. Yup, Habanos SA at it again. Instead of reprinting they kept the misprinted boxes, bands and ribbons until the next run.
I received my box today and was looking at the box and was thinking that didn't look like the right spelling. I went on the internet to kinda do some research and found out the story behind it.
I found this on a description below from a vendor online that got me thinking - should I just smoke these and buy a couple more boxes if they are going to be a collectors item?
I was wondering what your thoughts are on this. I know believe me I'm going to smoke these but your thoughts on acquiring a few more boxes for a collection purposes?
Length: 5 1/2"
Ring Gauge: 52
Flavour: Light to Medium
Packaging: Single cigar
Reserved only for La Casa del Habano shops and outlets that qualify as a Havana Cigar Specialist, the H.Upmann Connoisseur A is presented in SLBs of 25 and measure 5 ½” x 52 (VdG: Genios). This is the first time a cigar of the Genios size has been produced outside of the Cohiba brand (Cohiba Genios - Maduro 5). The Connoisseur A joins the standard range for H.Upmann.
For those of you reaching for the dictionary for the spelling of “Connoisseur” (or typing it into Google as is probably more the case these days), your suspicions will indeed be confirmed. The small error on the box, band and ribbon has been noted and will be rectified by Habanos S.A. on future production runs. This I am sure will make the current batch with the incorrect version somewhat of a valuable collector’s item.
