Well, I figured there is never a better time to enjoy an ISOM than... right now. Take this for what it's worth. I've only been smoking cigars for about 5 months now. While I really can't give it the review some of the more experienced smokers can, I still wanted to share my smoking experience with others.
I've had these Siglo III's chilling for a couple of months now. The last one I smoked was very enjoyable and so I expected nothing less this go around.
Man this cigar just looks good! Good texture, good looking construction all around. I must admit that as a newbie I am a bit drawn to the "ISOM" mystique. But this cigar looks good and smells good. I must say that it felt a bit firm, which makes me question my storage arrangement... although the humi has been holding nicely at 67%, 69 degrees. Now here in N. Texas it's getting pretty hot, so I had to set up a fan on the front porch to blow a little cool air in my direction. I knew that this might effect the burn a bit (as it proved to toward the end) but really I have no other choice if I want to smoke at noon in this heat. Yes, I am impatient!
When I lit this cigar it immediately said "BOLD" with some initial spice and tobbacco flavor. It didn't take long for that spice to subside and start giving me the Cohiba flavor that I identified with the last Siglo III that I smoked. I guess I can best describe it as; creamy, nutty and smooth. Really there is a creamy-ness to it that I really like. I just want to taste the smoke in my mouth over and over...
Okay, now this smoke is giving me more of that creamy flavor that I described already. It is really enjoyable and burning nicely. Wonderful aroma and flavors of nutty-ness, creamy-ness and tobbacco are filling my mouth. Also now I'm starting to feel this thing. This cigar creeped up on me pretty quickly. Keep in mind I'm a newbie and I'm starting to think maybe I should have eaten some protein with my breakfast...
Here you can see that it had a few burning problems... most likely from the fan that was keeping me cool. This picture shows it straightening itself out. Still delivering lots of creamy smoke.
I'm starting to wonder if I can finish this thing. It's really got me trippin! I rehydrated and dug in my heels. I'm going all the way!
Finally, this cigar finished with the same rich and creamy smoke that it started with. There were some fluxuations in taste, some more prominent than others. My tasting and reviewing skills still need much refining.
All in all, I really enjoy these Siglo III's. I can't wait for my girlfriend to revisit home (Venezueala) so that she can pick me up another assortment.
Hope you all enjoy the pics.
