The Cohiba Maduro 5 Secretos is the smaller of the sizes available and usually I do not care for smaller cigars. It had a dark and oily wrapper. It looked well constructed, not firm, and no weak spots. I clipped the cigar and smelled the foot and cap and noticed a strong cocoa smell. Usually I can not pick up things like that but it was very clear. I lit the cigar and notice a very smooth draw which impressed me because most of the smaller cigar, especially cubans, have mostly been tight, at least in my experience. The cigar was very smooth through out and did not burn hot until I began to nub it. It had very heavy, thick smoke, which I like. An even burn for the most part. I think I did one touch up. No "young cuban taste" noticeable to me at all. When me and my girlfriend go out to eat in Chattanooga, I love to take a cigar to the river walk afterwards, and I think this would be the perfect cigar for that. An excellent thirty minute smoke. A+

I followed it up with a Davidoff Millennium Petite Corona.

I just recently tried the Davidoff Millennium blend. I had always heard good things about these cigar but stayed clear because of it's price tag. Also I think that most of the Davidoff line is too mild for my taste. I found it to be a top notch cigar, as is mostly anything else Davidoff puts out. I'd say this is a lighter smoke, but then again I had just finished the Cohiba Maduro. A little un-even burn, and the taste fell off a little bit towards the end. Good smoke, a little pricey for the money but defiantly worth smoking for a change of pace.

I hate you - LOL!! Awesome line up - I can't wait to try the Secretos. I love the Davi Mill PCs though, great smoke.

BTW - That is a great ashtray!

Oh man, a Cohiba and a Davidoff in one sitting? Now THAT'S a threesome I wouldn't mind having one evening!

I've smoked a couple of the Davidoff Millennium PCs and really enjoyed them. They are a lot richer than some of the other Davidoff blends.
I like the sungrown wrapper.

I received both of them in trades (Thanks to Smellysell for the one I smoked a couple of weeks ago!). At the price they go for, I'm not sure if I would pop for one of these too often!

my thoughts exactly... one of my go to smoke on the millennium line
cuban davi's now that’s a different story.

That's still one I've not yet tried. I'll have to treat myself soon.

Another Davidoff I've been interested in trying is the Davidoff #1 NC. Comes in a wooden tube, I believe. Looks awesome, but I'm sure it would be another mild smoke in fancy packaging.

had a privilege to smoke a davi 5000 that's top 3 in my book.

by the way thanks for the reviews

I would love to see a pic of one of these next to a "natural".
I am very intersted in the depth of the maduro fermentation achieved with Cuban leaf.

Does the wrapper feel thicker?

Sounds like it MAY have some of the unusable maduro wrapper in the filler.

Must be nice, smokin a Davidoff and a 5 in the same day.

"Life's too short to smoke shitty cigars." :D

I don't to smoke as many as I used to so when I get the chance (usually on Wednesdays and weekends) I smoke something I'm sure I'll enjoy. Hopefully I'll be enjoying an Opus tonight.

I haven't smoked any other cohibas in awhile, but it seemed thicker from what I remember.

Ditto on the "life is to short to smoke shitty cigars" sounds to me like you are living the dream!! Congrats! Thanks for the review of the those two beautiful looking cigars.

Yes..you are very correct. Very mild. I smoked one while I was in Cardiff, Wales.

Your wish is my command, Dirick.

Here is a lineup of some random Cohibas. From left to right: Cohiba Seleccion Reserva 02, Piramides EL 06, Sublimes EL 04, Double Coronas EL 03, CM5, Cohiba Robusto.

The wrapper feels pliant but not as heavy or as coarse as the three ELs. It is actually a very nice midpoint between the regular line and the ELs. Dark and sweet smelling like the Sublimes but more delicate in texture, closer to the standard stuff.

Wilkey

I believe the Sublimes were also maduro. I've had both and preferred the Maduro 5. Price is also a good factor between the two.

Thanks for the wonderful review!

I enjoyed my experience with the Davidoff Millenium Blend PC, too! It was a blind taste review and I thought it was one of the best mild PCs I'd had. I can't wait to try the Secretos. ;)
