The Cohiba Maduro 5 Secretos is the smaller of the sizes available and usually I do not care for smaller cigars. It had a dark and oily wrapper. It looked well constructed, not firm, and no weak spots. I clipped the cigar and smelled the foot and cap and noticed a strong cocoa smell. Usually I can not pick up things like that but it was very clear. I lit the cigar and notice a very smooth draw which impressed me because most of the smaller cigar, especially cubans, have mostly been tight, at least in my experience. The cigar was very smooth through out and did not burn hot until I began to nub it. It had very heavy, thick smoke, which I like. An even burn for the most part. I think I did one touch up. No "young cuban taste" noticeable to me at all. When me and my girlfriend go out to eat in Chattanooga, I love to take a cigar to the river walk afterwards, and I think this would be the perfect cigar for that. An excellent thirty minute smoke. A+
I followed it up with a Davidoff Millennium Petite Corona.
I just recently tried the Davidoff Millennium blend. I had always heard good things about these cigar but stayed clear because of it's price tag. Also I think that most of the Davidoff line is too mild for my taste. I found it to be a top notch cigar, as is mostly anything else Davidoff puts out. I'd say this is a lighter smoke, but then again I had just finished the Cohiba Maduro. A little un-even burn, and the taste fell off a little bit towards the end. Good smoke, a little pricey for the money but defiantly worth smoking for a change of pace.
