I have been looking at this site for a while now and have gained a lot of knowledge. I have been converting a walk-in closet into a humidor and I am almost finished. My next stage is cooling and humidification. I have a small room evaporative humidifier, but I do not know the best way to cool the closet. The average temperature of the closet is 74 degrees. What's the best way to cool the closet? Also, I have been told the best temp/hum range is 68deg/68%. Is this right?

Thank you in advance for your help in this matter.

Nice to have you aboard DT! How about posting an intro in the intro thread? If you want some feedback on your closet humi, repost it in a different forum. This one is reserved for cigar passes.

Except where to post a proper intro, and where to place a post about Humidors (hint: there's a section of the board cleverly called "The Humidor"). Also we have a leg up on all the other cigar boards in that we have this crazy feature called the search function.

Anyways, just having some fun with you, no real harm intended. Look around, check out the site, and please do use the search function. There's tons of info out there about controlling temperature in humidors of all sizes. Chances are there's some good tips that might not come up on this thread which you may want to read.

Now that I think about it, what is a "Closet Humidor"? Is that a humidor that's afraid to go public with what it really is? Such as, "Hi everyone, I'm a humidor. But I haven't come out of the closet yet, so my friends and my parents really think I'm just a fancy end table."
