I got a Caiguardian humidifier for my 100 count humi at my local cigar shop. Carguardian claims that it (combined with the Ciguardian solution) keeps the humidity at 70%. Any of yall ever used these humidifiers? The owner went as far to say that they use them in their display cases and dont bother to use a hygrometer because they are so accurate. What do yall think?
I would be concerned about the condition of any cigars I purchased from that cigar shop.
lol. yea me too, but i havnt had any moldy cigars from them yet.. maybe ill look harder =]
Hey! I am a noob here too and I am tried a LOT of humidification system, here is what I have found out:
I have not used the brand Cigardian per say but something very similar, its basicaly a gel based humidifier. They have a tendency IMHO that wet the cigar faster, the gel will just dispence the humidity. When I say faster I mean as opposed to the beads, the beads takes a little longer to be effective however, it will regulate the humidity, release and absorbe (Heartfield Beads).
Here is the issue that I have with them, with the gel I would leave it in a ziplock bag and never worried about it, the cigar will get over humidified. Using the beads it will apparently will maintain the sticks at the appropriate RH... My problem is the wait, you need to leave it with the stick at lease 1 month and I just dont have the patience for that. Thus, I dont have extensive experience with it.
NOW, the method I am about to try is Beads + Active Humudification (Oasis System)
The Active System will regulate and ventilate the humidor while the bead will keep it in check!
Just my pennies!
