My wife actually sounded interested in getting a wine cooler, even for cigars, so long as we can still keep a little wine in it. Anyone see an issue with having wine and cigars in the same wine cooler? Is the 60-65 degrees that's ideal for cigars too warm for the wine? Thanks for any advice. :)

The information I've seen suggests 50 to 55 degrees Fahrenheit is ideal for long-term wine storage. Some say up to 60 degrees. I don't know if it would be better to have the unit set at 60 and be a bit warm for the wine, or at 55 and a bit cool for the cigars, or at 57 and be right in between! IMHO, a couple degrees one way or the other won't make much difference, but I'm probably wrong, as there will undoubtedly be numerous posts to point out in the following couple days.

It really depends on the wine. Reds might be OK. The temperature shouldn't really hurt the cigars, but it may slow aging a bit over the long term. Most people keep ready to drink whites pretty cool. I don't know how sustainable the correct humidity levels would be at those temps.

If you're looking to seriously age either, I'd say keep them separate and in ideal environments for each.

I've been told official wine cellar storage temp is 57. I have also been told beetles can hatch as low as 62. If it were me, I would set it at 60 and fuggeddaboutit.
