Ok, the obvious answer to this is "yes" whether we want to admit it or not. :p In all seriousness tho, I know of all the different lengths and ring gauges when it comes to cigars, but what I don't know is how the smoke is different because of it.

Since I'm still rather new to smoking cigars, I like the brevity of a corona or robusto. Now, I would just like to know how the tastes, burn, and draw all differ between the sizes.

[edit]
One more question... what's the benefit of putting cigars in a "fridgador" (like a refridgerator) or whatever term is popularly used here? And when should it be done?

The size of the cigar will help determine among other things the volume of smoke and the temperature of the smoke. A large cigar will have a larger volume of air comming through it and tend to be a lighter draw as well. Larger cigars also have more tobacco so there is room for more of one flavor or another and such.

I know I'm really not explaining this well so someone please jump in and help me out.

the larger ring guages allow for more different types
of tobacco to be used in the roll for different flavors.
on the whole, larger cigars smoke cooler than smaller
ones. as far as the draw, that varies from stick to stick.
i've had double coronas like a straw, and lanceros that
felt like you were trying to pull an orange through.
cigars should go in the humidor right away IMHO. every
moment spent in the environment, is less time in
optimal conditions.
that's just what i think. i'm no expert.

Personally, I prefer larger ring cigars because they burn cooler and tend to have an easier draw.

One thing that absolutely drives me nuts is a tight draw cigar. I snap them in half and throw them out the car window.

Also since I've always been one to try to get as much for my money as I can, they way I look at it you get a heck of a lot more tobacco tobacco in an 8 1/2 x 52 than a corona for usually essentially the same price.

i too like the large gauge gars. but, i say try every size and shape. each has its benifit. the smaller ones are great for when you only have 1/2 hour to smoke. would hate to lite up a churchill and only smoke 1/3 of it!

hmmm... i used to smoke larger ring cigars, and still do, but it seems like i been enjoying coronas and corona gorda sizes lately. the smaller gauge smokes often seem to have a more intense flavor (and they dont get too hot if you puff real slowly). smaller ring smokes have a higher wrapper to filler ratio, is my theory.

depends, as sometimes I am pretty busy, will try to go for a P.C. or panatela.

if more time will go for a torp., churchill, or robusto.

with ~19-20 credits, my spot on the Ultimate Frisbee team, Band, private trumpet lessons, a part-time job, IMs, I now tend towards the smaller during the week and larger on the weekend.
