CPFFL 2004
It's that time of year again. Time for me take everyones cigars.LMAO But seriously, this is just a early inquiry on who is interested in playing this year. This will be the 3rd year of the league and I'm sure many are looking forward to another fun filled season of loosing their cigars.LOL. :sign: Please post if you're interest. If you've never been in this league, feel free to search past year threads to get an idea of how things work. I will be posting the 2004 layout in the near the future.
Motions on the table from last year for consideration:
(1) Live Draft instead of Auto-draft?
We would really like to do a Live Draft this season. Please let me know if you could commit to a Live Draft. Date is not yet set...but it will be an evening time and take a couple hours to do. The sooner we can decide on this...the better our time slot opportunities are.
(2) Individual Defense instead of Team Defense?
ID is far more interesting than than TD, but it has been my experience over the years that the time and knowledge commitment are much more. ID is usually used with more of a "hardcore" group of FFL players, but you tell me what you want. I don't want to assume your FFL preference.
(3) Prize structure?
Year 1 we all submitted 5 sticks as an entry fee. It worked out "ok". Problems include debate on quality..ect...ect. One mans premium is another mans dog-rocket sort of thing.
Year 2 we all gave $35 entry fee and several boxes were ordered from a reliable price friendly source. I beleive the stick selection was voted on. This seemed to work out really well. Better of the two options IMHO.
**IMPORTANT INFO**
Whether you're a seasoned fantasy player or this is your first go around, please understand that I run this league. I am the commissioner. While we may vote and take a league consensus on "pre-season" issues. Once the league is up and running it is not a democracy. My decisions are the end all to be all on any issue that arise throught the course of the season. You need to join this league with a level of trust in me to be fair and non-partial. If you can't...than don't join. I've ran and played in several leagues a year for over 10 years. This is the best way and only way to run a league, period.
Once the league is setup....READ THE RULES. Know the rules, live the rules, and breath the rules. If everyone does this there is less chance of an issue arising. It's your responsibility to know the rules.
Realize that NOT EVERY situation can ever possibly be covered in a list of generic rules. It is with these issues if needed, I will make the call.
Think fair, play fair and there will be less need for the above.
With all that said. We really don't experience to many problems in this league. keep the above in mind and we will continue that trend.
Ok...who's in?
