Ok. Just wondering what is needed in a succesfull cigar pass and where to obtain all the equipment

So far obviously

1) Tupperdor
2) Cigars
3) Shipping Box
4) Credo/Humidification device

For the Baggies to fit the cigars in, is the a particular type? because certain ziploc bags doesn't fit cigars properly. Where do I get these baggies?

Do you include extra baggies because a lot of times, people put extra cigars (Trading 3 medium for 2 premiums) If that's the case, then you need extra baggies, and a larger tupperdor then what you started out with.

For the Puts/Take, is it just a simple sheet or is there a fancy excel printout out there somewhere that organizes it all.

Some people include extra shipping labels

(Label 228 from the USPS) and/or Delivery Confirmation receipts (PS Form 152).

Lots of people lately are using the USPS website to produce their own preprinted Priority Mailing Labels. In a pass I started, I included some blank forms of those in the pass. Click HERE to see what I'm talking about and enter LUPOSTSLW10 in the "item search" box.
A black "Sharpie"

or permanent magic marker for marking numbers on the baggies is usually included as well.

A simple spreadsheet with four columns will do fine:
CIGAR BRAND
CIGAR MODEL
PUT BY
TAKEN BY

The best way to learn how it works is to join a pass or two before attempting to host one. Personally I feel it should be a requirement before allowing someone to host a pass. You will see how different people package their passes, how people value cigars, and also allow other people to get to know who you are through the constant banter during the pass.

Most passes frown on taking quality for quantity. Never do that in a pass unless the host specifically states that up front before the pass starts. Its not fair to other people in the pass.

Chances are if you try and start a pass before getting to know the members here you will get little response.

Kenny's got a great point, I think I participated in over 20 passes before I ever hosted one and personally I think hosting one is a pain in the a$$ :p It's kinda like a wedding, it's GREAT being a wedding guest but to me it blows to be the bride or groom having to make all the arrangements and trying to make sure all your guests are happy.

Unfortunately lately around here there haven't been too many passes mostly because many people are worried that the summer heat may damage cigars traveling around the country.

So with cooler weather setting in there will probably be lots of passes to get involved with ;)

You should look up Moki's Pass for a great idea on Pass Equipment! Moki used a cooler to protect the cigars and it was a very sweet set-up!

I agree with Brother Kenny in that it's a great idea to join a few passes before hosting one! Heck... since I've been a member here I've been in many passes but I haven't hosted one myself yet. Maybe this year but I doubt it as it's a lot of work and takes a lot of time and I'd rather spend my time posting and herfing... LOL!

Good luck with your Pass Bruddah!

Aloha,

Wade
