You fellas think a Cigar Oasis Plus is big enough for a 100/120qt. cooler? It's already in my 50qt. and I'm thinking about upgrading. I wanna be like Scott :D No seriously...

:D

Easily. Will work even better if you put a 1/4 lb. of Climmax beads in with it :)

I have a pound of 65% on deck. I figured I could put that in the corners to stabilize it better.

Oh and there is a flat cord that goes out the back right now. No need to run it through the drain plug.

I would like to may'be set up some fans? Any help with that? I'm not good with electrical stuff

I'd have to agree that fans really aren't needed. Just opening it up every few days or once a week displaces the air enough IMO.

I'm pretty sure that set-up has a built in fan anyways.
Thats nice to know about the flat cord I didn't know they had that.

Okay so I won't put little computer fans in it. Just some beads to the side or something. And the flat cord is a nice feature.

Not to high-jack this thread but I got an Oasis Plus for my Barrister Bookcase humidor that I got from JRs. The humidity was great (~65%) after a couple of days but now won't go above 60%. It's been stuck there for the past week. ??? I even tried turning it up a bit and that didn't seem to do anything. Anyone else ever had this problem? Should I just get some beads instead?

Jim. I've had the same problem with one of the oasis in one of my end tables. Won't go above 62 or thereabouts. I've thought about the beads as well seeing that they have gotten such rave reviews on the board.

As to the original post, I'd normally say yes. The first end table and oasis that I got works like a charm. I have recommended them to many people. Since a coolador has such a good seal and there is not as much spanish cedar to absorb the moisture, I would think it'll do a great job. Just my 0.02.

Figured out the problem. The Oasis is fried. The power supply electronics are shot. When I take out and reinsert the AC plug there are small sparks coming from the electric board. ??? All packaged up and ready to be sent in for warranty replacement/repair.

Finally got this back (they sent a new top for it) and now have a different problem. The damn thing will not shut off! It's been going for 24 hours straight and my humidity is up to 75%. I turned it all the way down and it still keeps running constantly. I opened the door to the humi, let it drop to ~65%, close the door again and 15 minutes later it is still running and up over 75%. :angry2: Granted, the cigars could use the extra humidity as they have been at ~55% for a week or two, but this is crazy. The Oasis is on the left side of the Humi and the digital hygrometer is in the middle (between boxes and trays). I may just need to buckle down and get beads...

Just be careful, a quick spike in humidity like that can cause the wrappers on your cigars to split, especially from 55% to above 70%. Rapid and repeated humidity changes is almost the worst thing for smokes.

Yeah, I figured that might be a problem. I unplugged the Oasis, opened the Humi door and let the humidity drop down to ~70%. After about 30 minutes, it was down to 65% (cigars and boxes absorbing humididty). I will keep the Oasis off until it drops to 60% or so and then turn it on until up to 70%. Rinse and repeat. My humidor holds humidity pretty well so once everything is balanced out at 65% I should be good.
