ha!
As many are aware, Moki decided to get revenge on me, and a few others, for my little foam beer in a box trick. So... I present to you- the latest in Cigar Packaging, the Moki Cement Coffin!

To those that were looking forward to me tearing them apart with a Hurst Spreader (Jaws of Life) sorry! I took the box out to the carport and decided to give it one fast try with smacking it on one corner- if it did nothing then it was going to go to work with me. But, alas, one swift smack and the corner gave way (easily I might add!) exposing the cigars, splitting the cement coffin right down the middle and it was easily pulled apart by hand from there. I thought one corner was going to be a problem, but only the ziplock baggie was caught so a good tug and it was free.

Sorry for the let down gang! Guess I was just too excited to wait! :(

And sorry Moki... I would have to say that even though the creativity, execution and sheer weight of this was phenominal, the foam was harder to deal with (yes, I was a recipient once... where do ya think I got the idea? )

thanks brother  thanks a lot!

Wow,

This entire project was tons of fun to follow in the threads. :D Truly a stroke of devious ingenuity, A. Swissy, great photo documentary.

Wilkey

....a good reminder that a solid smack from a hammer does indeed take care of many of life's little issues....

Nicely done, Swissy - B.B.S.

Great brick, great pics, great sticks, great play Moki!

A story for the grandchildren  :sign:

I did consider putting something in to reinforce the concrete, but I was trying to be funny rather than cruel :)

Thats awesome. I was hoping to see some pics of the jaws of life in action though.
Sorry... guess I was a little too impatient! But in all honesty I really was only going to whack it once with the hammer, and lo and behold it parted like the Red Sea!

That looks absolutely hilarious. How much did the package weigh?
no weight listed on the label, but by the postage it would have weighted 5½ pounds. Thought it was funny there was a 'Heavy' sticker on it!

and I hear you about the reinforcement Andrew... I've thought about chicken wire in my foam boxes of beer, but I don't want to get put on a hit list! The foam is bad enough... can you imagine digging thru it and running into the chicken wire? :0

I see what looks like a water stain on the 'heavy' sticker. Hope Uncle didn't float test the box! I'm glad the bomb arrived well packaged and in good condition. Actually, I think it could have soaked it in used fryer grease and not been harmed

It ain't like I doubted you , but I'm damned glad you got through the gauntlet. I don't think I could handle another face looking like Smokyballs' after Uncle dragged his package of single malt behind the truck!

spelling, DOH!

This was hilarious to watch! Great stuff Moki!

Nice pics. Seemed like little trouble. Some one should cover the cigars in the foam, then make a cement brick around that. ;)

well, if there was someone you didn't want to get into the cigars, or you didn't like them or just wanted to be an ass, the best thing would be to make a box out of chicken wire, put the cigars inside, cement around them to form the coffin, then put the cement coffin in a box and foam it up. maybe even make ANOTHER box out of chicken wire and put the cement cigar coffin inside and foam around THAT.

Not that I would advocate doing that... you'd have someone really PO'd at you for doing that!... but my buddy in Iraq.... naw, he has connections high up... but still...

Nah. If I was really mean, I'd put it in a solid block of lucite or epoxy resin.

actually, if you were mean, it would be a solid block of cement- no cigars!
