I'll soon be best man at a friends wedding in Puerto Rico. Does anyone have recommendations for a good place to enjoy some drinks and enjoy some Siglo VI's I've been holding onto especially for the event?

If I remember correctly, I think you can smoke cigars in the casino near the cruise ship terminal. Otherwise the places I know you gringos dont want to venture in. LOL

I was in PR on business last week. You want to go El San Juan Hotel in Isla Verde. Hotel has a gorgeous lobby w/ a 2 bars, casino, coffee bar, dance club, etc. Definitely bring your own stogies and be ready to spend dough on drinks.

Have a great time!

I found the El San Juan online. Looks like they have a cigar bar that sounds like it's worth a visit. How long did it take to get from San Juan to the El San Juan Hotel?

Not real big on the casino scene. I'm looking for the sort of lounge with either big leather chairs, or relaxing tropical environment. I guess the best of both worlds would be big leather chairs at the beach, but I'll just keep dreaming.

Any good cigar shops in PR? I'm assuming no Cuban's (cigars, that is) on the island being a US territory, correct?

The hotel is in San Juan so you will probably be w/in 10 to 15 min from it. There are a few cigar shops in Old San Juan, prices were on par with US. The hotel has a shop but the prices we're a bit high. When you're at the San Juan hotel make sure you enjoy your smokes at the main bar. It's a cigar friendly bar with good drinks and you also get to enjoy watching all the action walking around.
