I just recieved my cigar caddy I ordered from one of the sites sponsors. It comes with a little humidifying device, but I was wondering what I need to put in it. The PG solution or just some distilled water. The caddy did not come with any sort of directions or literature.

I just used distilled water. It's just a floral foam humidifier, so you really can't kill it.

What size did you get?

I don't use anything in mine. In fact, I took the little humidifiers out of all of mine because they left flattened spots on some of my larger gauge cigars.

These things seal so tightly that I've put cigars fresh from my humidor in them for trips and those cigars are still just fine almost 3 weeks later. They could likely go longer. Unless you're in a very arid environment, I really don't think cigars can dry out in these types of travel humidors in any period of time they're likely to be used.

YMMV, of course.

I did the same.

As long as the o-ring seal is good....the humidity stays put.

Now, I also like to put a humi-pack in mine for added measure.

Three rotations in the Middle East and I never had a problem with my 18 count. I just make sure to open it up every day or two for a few minutes to get some fresh air in there. I'm quite fond of the humi-pack as well in these guys.

I just put in some PG solution and I'm good to go. Don't make the mistake of leaving it sealed for days on end though, make sure to open it up at least once a day to refresh the air inside.

I order a fiver awhile back on group buy and love it, but have been using the humipack in mine, and that works good

Yep, I like to slide a humidipak under one of the foam inserts. Or....if I have the room I put a bead tube in there.

Those things seal so crazily that you have to PRY them open after a plane ride. I actually don't use humidification in my 10 and 18, I just make sure I change the cigars in and out every 3 weeks or so just to be safe.

Neither. Unless you're keeping cigars in there long-term, you don't actually need ANY added humidfication---and it can be a BAD idea. Mildew, mold, like that.
