Double D just called me up and told me that the Iguana Maduros he had left all show signs of what he called "pimples" And now taste and smoke horrible. He told me his Humidor is at 70% (+5/-5) and under 70°F... Well after I got off the phone with him, I called my wife and had her take a look at the one he gave me last week thats sitting pretty in my Humi and she said it looks perfectly normal.

DD also told me the rest of the cigars in his Humidor are fine only the Iguanas have seem to have come down with acne.

Could this be the first signs of Beetles? Mold? Something for the X-files?

DD doesn't have a Digital camera so I'm going to go over his house tonight and take some pictures.

until later...

Ok here are the pictures...

There are really small bumps all over the wrapper... the one in the cello was in my Humidor, while not as bad as DD's it also has a few of the small bumps on it.

Here is an even closer picture of the bumps. I'm going to smoke the screwed up cigar to see how big of a taste difference there is compared to the one I smoked last week. I'm also going to quarantine the one thats still in cello since I don't want anything weird happening to the 1990 Rocky Patels I received today. :whistling:

Those bumps are called tooth and they are a good thing. They are tiny pockets of oil which gives the cigar flavor.

Good thing unless it makes the cigar's taste change so much its no long palatable.

Nothing wrong with those pictures. Looks like it is going to be a good cigar.

What he said...

When the cigar is smoked, those little bumps, or spots, will turn into little white/grey beads on the ash.

Well I just got finished smoking the cigar in the picture, and I am now of the firm opinion, that my friend smoked a bum cigar. It tasted almost exactly like the one I had last week, and it had a almost perfect burn and drawl.

lol thanks for the cigar Double D :p

ya ya said he needed to take them for photos now i will never see them again and they were my last ones.
