Here's a cheap refurbished small thermoelectric cooler to experiment with for those living in hot climates:

From the dimension, it should fit about 100 cigars...might be good for those expesive smokes that you might want to protect in the summer. Good luck.
 
I have one similar to that. The thing is because there aren’t any filters and it’s a straight up electric cooling system moisture collects in it. This might not happen as often in lower humidity environments but it will sill collect a small puddle of water on the bottom of the inside. Personally I wouldn’t say it’s a very good environment for cigars but I suppose if you just cycled it every so often and cleaned it, it would be fine.
