I am wondering if any one has tried the The Treasure Dome 300ct humidor from cheaphumidors.com

This retail price is $1700.00 and it sells for the low low price of $149.99 thats a 91% savings. Sounds to good to be true to me.

I have looked around the forum and found people who have good things to say about other humidors from this site. Is this one worth having?

Just order a scratch and dent of this model - $ 110.00 plus $ 12.00 shipping - it should be here Friday - as for their inflated MSRP - it is just marketing -
I have read other reviews for this humi on various threads, and they all seemed to be positive -

The company is legit and they have EXCELLENT customer service. As for that humidor, I know nothing about it.

Hint: Sign up for their newsletter, the usually put discount codes to apply to your order.

Here's one: KOMP-QSA1HQ. It expired Dec 4th, but who knows, maybe they'll let you use it.

...I've got one of their Milano humidors and it's a dandy. Got to admit their "Retail" prices are kinda over the top but their products are solid and they seem like good folks to do business with.

I've been thinking about a humi with more room in it, so if you get that model, please post some comments when it arrives / after you've got it up and running...

Regards - B.B.S.

i have one from them, and it is a 100 count similar to The Alhambra, fit and finish is great, and the price was right. Mine was discontinued a few months ago. customer service was great and reasonable shipping costs. i will do business with them again.

I don't think $1700 is the MSRP for the Treasure Dome. Maybe $700. My local has it for $300 I think and I see it on the web for $140 or so.

The one in my local shop looks great. I would love one and it will probably be my next humi unless I go cabinet.

As for Cheap Humidors . . . I have patronized them and they have great products and excellent serivce.

Based on the positive posts I am going to pull the trigger and get this Humi.

I have to get something fast due to the unexpected addition of 2 boxes of Hemingways and 16 Opus X sticks that I just picked up. I was able to move some sticks from my current humi into a Tupperware container which gave me room to fit the Opus and I will be keeping the boxes of hemis (which are factory wrapped with the Fuente humipack) inside large zip-locks until I can get this humi here and seasoned.

I will post a review and some pics when it arrives.

You're making the right decision. The person who runs that Co. is a stand-up guy.

Doc.

The inflated MSRP might be a 'designer' model, like a Davidoff or the like that they modeled this humi after.

The Vicksburg look like a great humi, but I am not sold on glass tops, I like to keep my cigars naked and in the dark.

I was a little iffy at first, but being able to glance at your sticks and see the digital readout without having to open it all the time is a big bonus (I use one of my desktops to hold stuff I plan on smoking so I don't have to constantly open up the footlocker - although sometimes I need to get a good whiff of the contents :p )

Here is what was written in Cigar Aficionado in a test done in Nov/Dec03 issue

Battle of the Boxes
Cheap Humidors.com 300 Cigar Treasure Dome

Veneer: Amboyne wood; Interior: Spanish cedar; Capacity: 300 cigars; Humidification: Lamsia System (two units); Details: Brass fixtures, lock and key, analog hygrometer, trays, dividers; Cost: $199.99; Contact: (888) 674-8307; Score: B-

Given the name, you might not expect much from this humidor, but the form and look are surprisingly pleasant, with attractive fixtures and countersunk side handles that do not interrupt the shape. The interior is pleasing, with inlaid trim around the hygrometer and humidification system as well as a lattice system on the bottom tray, which allows for humidified air to flow beneath the often overlooked bottom-tier cigars. The box even has a pleasant smell. Upon close inspection, however, the humidor shows signs of fatigue that will likely worsen over time. The fixtures are a bit loose and the interior seams were slightly separated by the end of the test, indicating that the gaps will increase in the future. The humidity levels ran very high, starting at 76 percent, rising as high as 78 percent and dropping only below 72 percent by the sixth week. The analog hygrometer flat out didn't work and stayed at 50 percent throughout the entire test. Although the humidor's performance was less than average, it was rewarded for its size and unbeatable price.

Other then that I have the Vicksburg Glass Top Humidor for large storage, a El Grande Desktop Humidor for loose cigars and a desk top for what I'm going to smoke. I have Western Caliber III Digital Hygrometers and Cigar Oasis in all. :D

Thanks for finding that review Gary-smoke, I ordered one and will see how it goes once it arrives. Several things mentioned in the review don't bother me. I will not use the Hygrometer or humidification system (beads for me).. As for the" interior seams were slightly separated" we will see.

It is not a bad humidor by any means cosidering it got a B- as did a Diamond Crown -- The Biltmore for $675.00 :0 If it had been larger I would have bought one.

Well I almost forgot that I was going to post pics of the new humi once it arrived.

Just to refreash everyone I ordered the treasure dome 300ct humi from cheaphumidors.com. The Box was in great condition when it arrived and it only took 2 days to season. I loaded it up, and well,

I'll will let the pics say the next 1000 words.

the bottom level is nice and deep, good for holding those box buys.

and the lift out trays

All in all it is a great box for the price and will serve me well for years to come.

Man you got enough Zino Platinums in that thing??!?!?!? lol.

I bought a sampler that came with one of every size stick plus and a free zcrib.

Then a buddy of my traded me a handfull of them plus another zcrib for some random sticks that had in my other humi.

So yes I do have a few Zinos :D
