Hello all, has anyone gottin a cheaper humidor that had lexan sides rather then glass? first off had i know it had lexan in it it would not have ben bought, but none the less i did. The issue is that there is ne real seal between the lexan and the wood just four "picture frame" style tabs holding it in place. Im thinking about pulling it apart and puting some sealer there, but what kind should i use that will not polute my sticks when i put them back in. My other though was to make some ceader strips the full langth of the lexan and brading them in. Im in the starting steps of builing a new humidor altogeter but this one was a wedding gift from the wife and id like to savlege it if i can. Any help would be great, thank

I'm sure someone here has the info you seek, or knows where to get it. Why don't you head over to the introduction thread and tell us who you are? I'm sure you will get the info you seek faster going that route. Welcome to Cigar Pass.

I used rope caulk (the kind for window insulation) and it worked very well. Others have used dental wax (unscented) with the same great results. Just wedge the stuff in where the lexan or glass meets the wood.

I used GE Bathtub II caulk.
Get the kind that is alcohol based, rather than acid based.
If it smells a lot, it is the acid based caulk. The alcohol
based caulk smells far less.

In any case, remove your smokes and let the caulk cure for
a few days, before returning them to their home. Use a
Tupperdor for temporary storage. Worked great for me.

How about a humi made out of lexan/plexi?? That is an interesting thought.
