OK, I know most of the experienced smokers here have tried this cigar since it is cheap, readily available, and quite a nice cigar. But, with all the newbies asking advice on what to buy, what to try, etc, I figured a quick little review of this cigar may help some guys out.
So anyway....last night I smoked the Fuente Chateau Fuente Sun Grown. It was given to me by Eshaw99 in a blind trade. I have had these before, but this one was especially flavorful, so it may have had some age to it (can you help here Eric?).
As is usual, this cigar was beautifully constructed; the wrapper was smooth and oily, the ash was perfectly white, the burn was even throughout.
The flavor was a bit harsh at the outset but quickly turned. I got a sweet taste towards the front end which turned a bit more earthy after the mid-way point (sorry I can't put more precise words to the flavors..). This medium to full-bodied cigar lasted about 45 min and was smooth and cool right until the end.
Perhaps the most appealing aspect of this cigar outside of it's flavor is it's price; I believe MSRP is about $3.50.
OK, that is my $0.02.
