I had a Casa Royal from Holts today. I expected more from a Don Pepin cigar. It was ok, but not great. I wouldn't buy them again. If you folks want to smoke Don Pepin and dont want to spend a ton of money, go with Holt's Fumadores. They are $2 a stick and even though they are mixed filler, their burn and construction are fantastic! Save yourself some cash and go with the Fumadores.

When these first came out by Holts I was excited to try a new Pepin smoke. Man this thing was bad. I ended up gifting away the box that I bought. Cant win over everyone all the time I guess...

I actually don't think they're that bad... they are a step or two below San Cristobal in my opinion but definitely smokable. The problem with them is that they are too expensive for what they are. They should be about $4 to $5 a stick.

I think i had the same feeling about the cigar when I smoked it a few days ago. It was an Ok smoke and it was fairly reasonable (I bought it from Holts in one of the Grudge Match packs). Nothing impressive about the cigar but for the price it's not bad.

May get me a box of Fumadores during my trip to Philly this weekend. I did enjoy the ones you gifted me back in the day.
