Carlos Torano Exodus 1959 Torpedo – I had this guy while watching football today. It took maybe ¾” before it really opened up. When it did, it had the taste of rich caramel, and spice. The taste was pretty consistent through out the smoke. My Jack and Coke went well with it. It did have some minor burn issues. While I had a drink which went well with the flavor, I don’t think I like these guys. I don’t like my caramel to be overwhelmed or overpowered by spices which was the case. All in all, I wasn’t overly excited by this cigar. I don’t think I’d get it again, but I’d try others by Torano. I’ve had the Casa Torano which is a freaking awesome morning cigar! Once the cigar open’s up it’s a great accompaniment to your morning coffee. If anyone is interested in doing a box split of these, I’m game.

I have yet to try the torp but I have enjoyed the other vitolas in this line. They don't have the punch that I tend to prefer but the flavor is consistent and the wrapper is about as pretty as they come. Thanks for the write up!

Since I smoke mostly snobby cigars, I rarely if ever smoke and/or buy low to medium priced domestics but the Carlos Torano Exodus 1959s are one of the very few that make my list.

I LOVE these cigars, I just bought a box of the Toros from hex. Someone sent me one as a CigarPool winning and it was the first one of my winnings that I turned to ashes.

Even though they are a "dark natural" they taste like a sweet maduro to me. I rarely if ever have burn or draw issues with these but it does happen from time to time which can be said for pretty much any cigar out there.

If I were you, I wouldn't give up on these. Maybe try a Toro or a Robusto next time.

I can imagine how caramel and an overwhelming spice would make you dislike the cigar. Not a combo I look for. I love the casa torano in the am as well. One of my better days was a casa in the am, exodus silver after lunch and a signature after dinner. That pretty much got me into toranos from there. I've got a few 1959 sitting. Maybe some age will smooth out that spice. Thanks for the review Juan.

I would make the same suggestion. I find the Robusto to be particularly tasty.

These are one of the few smokes that I've liked each and every time I've had one. I've never had a problem with any of the ones I have smoked and the price on these is very good for the quality in my opinion.

Thanks for the review. I always like to see what others think of the smokes I like. :)

tastes definitely vary. After hearing good things about this cigar for awhile i finally pulled the trigger and bought three. The first was tight and unsmokable. the second had a tight draw but had a taste i didn't care for. the third, i let sit in the humi for a couple of months and i still didn't like it. The draw was good but the taste wasn't to my liking.
