Do you guys take the cigars out of the cardboard box they came in with? Thank you in advance for your response.

Joe

Are you asking if you buy a box of cigars that come in a cardboard box, instead of a wood box, do we take them out of the box before we store them? Well I think if you are putting them in a coolerdor or a cabinet then you can leave them in the box. Of course if you are putting them in a desktop then take em out. my .02

I always leave them in the boxes. Don't think it makes much of a difference either way except the box offers protection from wrapper damage.

Brandon - he's talking about an ISOM Trini Robusto Extra. Each individual cigar comes in its very own little cardboard box - kinda like cello on NC's.

As LucasBuck says, leave 'em in the box. Lessens wrapper and pigtail damage.

Ditto!

yes, I take out. I don't like that moist cardboard on my sticks. The only thing my sticks touch is cello or spanish cedar, all other things are off limits.

For me to smoke, I take 'em out. For gifting, I leave 'em in.

For longer term storage, don't buy them in cardboard packs.

Roger that, Craig. I meant to say that as far as cigars that I've encountered and have had the opportunity to put down, none have thus far been cardboard packs. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any recent, readily available CBP cigars...at least that I've been interested in.

Thanks for the clarification.

Wouldn't the cardboard have a tendancy to grow mold quickly at the humidity levels we keep our cigars at?

I don't see why. But I keep my humis around 60% which ain't likely to grow mold on anything. For some of you yokels that keep yours at 70%+ who knows?
