Filler: A mix of Dominican, Brazilian, and Nicaraguan
Wrapper: Domincan Corojo aged 4 years
Binder: Dominican
Box Price: Around 300 bucks a box of 20 single sticks can be had for around 15 bucks
There have been very few cigars that have intrigued me over the past few years. Aurto fuente forbidden X (I have yet to try this one). The CAO Palms Given out at a super bowl party at the palms hotel. And lastly the CAO vision partly do to hype partly due to my love for CAO cigars. Well a few weeks back I was gifted a CAO Vision Prana and here is my review.
Look: This cigar did not have the smooth flawless look that you would imagine from a $15 cigar. There were quite a few visible veins. The two bands are very nice one with the serial # and the traditional one.
Prelight: The smell of this cigar was very leathery with a hint of sweet. And the pre light draw was very nice with a pleasant taste.
First Half: This cigar lit right up and burned very evenly with a very strong salt and pepper colored ash. Flavors were good it have a very good tobacco flavor with hints of other flavors but nothing I could nail down. They list this cigar and a medium to full body cigar but to my palate it was more medium to full at this point.
Second Half: The second half of this cigar a nutty taste came through more. Also some nice mild spice was coming though. This cigar as it warmed up became more and more enjoyable. Burn was still even and the ash was still rock solid with the same salt and pepper look.
Conclusion: Does this cigar live up to the hype it has been given? While it is a very good cigar and one I defiantly enjoyed I don’t think it lived up to the hype. Nor does it live up to the price tag that has been placed on it. I have had better cigars for the price of this one. Heck for less money even. Would I smoke more of these cigars yes it was a very good cigar but they price will need to come down a bit before I do so. Thanks for reading hope I did ok. rp
