Cao Digital Cigar Box

An innovative idea, definitely a pioneer in the future of humidors, HOWEVER....

Won't the LED's create unneccessary heat? And that neon blue light isn't adequate enough to see the cigars in their full uncensored glory, or to examine them for mold/beetle holes. Although I'm sure plume will look nice under the blue light.

LEDs are the coolest (temperature wise) lights they could use, I doubt any measurable heat is being released.

I would hope that they're only on when it's opened, too. So it won't really be adding any heat inside the humi/box.

Perfect for checking your Cigars in the middle of the night.
Although my wife reckons my checking out the contents of the fridge in the middle of the night lets out enough light so I wont be getting one :(

This looks like a very nice humidor, but I am with NotJonGreco, as CAOs are OK but my preferred cigars are made my Drew Estate, Acid, Java, Kaluha...need I say more? These are by far the best 'flavored' cigars I have ever had. Has anyone had the "Egg"?

Wow, when I first saw that I was thinking that it was pretty cool and I could probably make something similar. After reading those comments I have no desire to build my own "light up" box.

My personal favorite:

When I spent some time over in england, I had a few Cubans. I diddn't find them to be anything so special. I think it's more hype then anything else. As far as non flavored cigars go, my picks are La Flor Dominicana Lancero, and a good ol' Rocky Patel. I had a 25 year old rocky patel once, and it was fantastic. Flavored though...The drew estate Java is an old favorite...cause it's my first cigar ever. The whole Acid line is amazing though. The cold tea infusion is in my top 10 favorite cigars.

Was Rocky Patel even around 25 years ago?

I think it's CAO's way of selling more cigars...

I am surprized at you!! Of course he was. You should try his 100 year old stuff!! I think J&R sells it under the brand name of Flor de Baloney!! :whistling:

Flor de Baloney...a friend gave me one this past week. Says it's Lew's personal signature cigar...

I have pictures of them in the Belicoso flavourette thread in herf section.

The light only light up when it is open. When you close the lid the lights turn off.

Also there is a small storage space under the cigars where one can put a waterpillow or humidification bag.
