Anyone smoked any of the CAO Brazilia line of cigars? I saw they were rated high by Cigar Afficinado and I was thinking of picking one up to try. Haven't seen them in local tobacco places here in Toronto so I might order off of Absolute and see if I like them.

Anyone with any experience?

Meh -- nevermind...I should have done a search first. I see various topics on CAO...sorry I'll read up on them now :)

Well if the question would be:
Do you like em?
I'd say "YES".
Tried Anaconda, Lambada, Samba, Pirana, Gill! and Cariocas... Meaning from bigger sizes to smallest. You will notice some slight difference in intensity of the flavour in different sizes but if you like the flavour than you gonna like them.

I picked one up last night. I was surprised at how cheap they were so I figured I would try one out. She's getting some humi time right now so I'll bust it out sometime and see how it is.

Don't care for this line as much as I like the Italia, but any cigar made by CAO is usually good. The Anaconda is a monster.

Brazilia is one of my favorite cigars...so is the Italia...either one is a winner in my opinion!

She? Are all cigars referred to as women? LOL

I don't know that anyone here in Toronto has CAO as I've never seen those cigars. I've seen them for order on Absolutecigar so I might order a 5iver since they're cheap enough.

I absolutely love the Brazilia Gol! I've yet to try a better cigar and I've tried many NC's $30 and under. Each time I smoke a $12 to $30 cigar I can't help but think... I could have had 2 to 5 Gols (they are about $6.25 at my local B&M) for the same amount! I've yet to find a cigar I enjoy more. The Padron 1926 Maduro is close, but cost $20-30. Gave a Brazilia Gol to my brother recently and he was similarly impressed. He wasn't familiar with the line and though it was a much more expensive cigar (relatively speaking).

The Italia is okay, but to me is milder, has less flavor and is less complex. The CAO MX2's are more similar to the Brazilia than the Italia line (IMO); although they are somewhat sweeter, not quite as strong and less complex. I also like the other CAO lines, particularly the L’Anniversaire eXtreme and Criollo.

Guess you could say I'm a big fan of the Brazilia. It's my reference standard cigar, which I find amazing given how cheap it is (again relatively speaking). However, I have noted some inconsistencies with the Brazilia (all have been impeccably constructed), however I've come across a few that were way off in flavor and somewhat harsh. I've also found others mention this as well. Somewhat disappointing, but most have been so good, I keep going back. So if you don't like the initial one or two, you might try one from a different box or even a different one in the Brazilia line. As usual, just an opinion and your milage may vary!

Enjoy,

Mark

i enjoy them, but i haven't had one in a while. Here's what i recall:

They were really nice and fairly spicy, a dark nicraugian[sic] wrapper. They produced a lot of smoke, and it kicked my a$$ the first time i had one. They are on par with RyJ maduro's in the kind of taste and feel to it.

I had the gol, by the way.

If I have some time tonight, I think I might try my Brazilia. I'll add my input in a few hours.

The Brazilia is my favorite NC. I smoke them often!! If you like a bold cigar, you cant beat it for the price IMHO.

....I think I will go have one right now!!

I agree with MDW .. the Brazilia Gol is a very nice smoke. Certainly worth smoking one if you haven't tried them. Also check out the Italia, I've got three or four of the Italia robustos (I think they are called "Ciao")resting in the humi right now. Another excellent smoke from CAO.

Brazilia and Italia are completely different lines... And I would never tried to recommend Italia just because someone likes Brasilia... To me Brasilia are very good and enjoyable smoke... But I do not want to smoke Italia as I do not like that light bitterness it has. To my friend... he loves Italia but avoiding Brazilia...

Do not get me wrong... you can recommend everything you want...
Just assumption that if someone likes Brazilia will like Italia is incorrect as these are 2 different blends.

The Brazilia and Black are two of the best cigars CAO makes. have a couple 65th Annivs in the humi so I can't speak on those yet. The Brazilia samba is a regular in my box. Great spice and cocoa flavors.

I'm ordering an 8 cigar sampler from absolute cigars of the different CAO brands. I'll get to make my assessment soon. :)

VotTak. You are correct, they are two very different cigars. Everyone's taste is different, so I understand that someone may like one but not the other. I happen to like both, but for different reasons. Just wanted offer my opinion on another quality smoke. I didn't mean to imply that they were similar in taste.

I have had the entire line of the Brazilia and found that I definately line some more than others. First is the Samba; best of the line IMO. I also enjoy the Lambada and if you are up for a large smoke, the Amazon is good as well. The PC (Pirhana) and the really small guy the Carocas are both tasty and have that unique taste that really defines this line. I was underimpressed by both the Gol and Ipanema; maybe I should give them another try. Just my $0.02.

I really enjoy the CAO line. To me the Brazilia and the Italia are similar, with the Italia being more spicy. Both are great cigars IMO.

I also like the robusto gauges of both lines the best. Got a box of Italias in the humi, need to get a box of Brazilias as well.

The blacks are great as well, myself prefering the narrow and longer gauge of this blend.
