Couple questions got a new humidor today and was wondering if i can season it with cigar juice? As that is all that i have now. And about my humidor i got this
and noticed it doesn't fully lock it will stay locked with pressure turning the lock but if i not holding the key it can be open also i can turn the guage on the front should it turn? Not that they are big deals but just wondering if i should return it? Also how hard should the dollar pull out when you check the seal of it i can pull it out with not to much effort

What is "cigar juice"? Never heard of that. Just season with distilled water and you'll be fine.

EDIT: This stuff? http://www.coronacigar.com/products/Cigar_...id195_cid4.html

Probably just distilled water and PG anyway I would think. Should work fine.

???

What is "cigar juice", and what are you trying to link too? It doesn't go anywhere. Not sure what humidor you have.

I don't know what you have for a humidification device, but if it's foam use the distilled water. I haven't used PG before, so someone else will have to advise you on that.

Please use commas too, because that whole post looked like one long sentence. Hard for me to read, my bifocals haven't come in yet.

I thought you might have been thinking of tobaccocino. Based on the one review I've read, I wouldn't recommend it.

I'm not an expert by any means, but I probably wouldn't put the PG mix on the cedar. I'm pretty sure its just for the humidification element (sponge)

Cigar Juice??? Not so sure about that. Use distilled H2O... its very cheap.

Also, go on over the "introduce yourself" thread and tell us a little bit about yourself. ;) Its part of the initiation process around here. Something I've come to appreciate. Plus, I like hearing about how everyone else enjoys this hobbie as much as me!

Ohhhhh, that stuff.

That's PG/water blend. Use it plain in a cup or bowl. Potentially messy. Use it with floral foam in a dish or cup. Less messy and the way I used to roll. Never put this stuff on wood. The PG will soak in and the wood will feel sticky for a good long time.

Yeah, you could do that. It's just real dangerous in case your humi gets bumped or whatnot. Cleaning up that oily-feeling liquid is not fun. Ask me how I know.

You can do it for seasoning, for sure. To do that, leave the shot glass (or two) in there for at least a week. Some folks advocate wetting the wood but I wouldn't try to rush things.

Take a few minutes and post up in the Introductions forum. Let us get to meet you formally.

Try not rush it. My wife bought me a Humi a few weeks ago, (I am not in town at the moment) and I walked her throught he seasoning process over the internet. We used a shot galss of water and a seasoning kit. After a week she said the RH was around 80. I had her place the two 4 oz 65% tubes in the humi, lightly misting one of them first. after a few days the RH was down to 60% and has been there for over a week. I did a split with a CP member and the smokes were sent to the house where my new humi is and now, and they had to go in, I am working with my wife to slowly raise the RH. So long story short, Take your time or it will take even longer to get it where you want it.
