Smoked one last night while reading a book in the back yard. Damn. THis thing was a powerhouse. Good thing I had just eaten a hearty meal.
Full of pepper and leather, and was described as "about as subtle as a gorilla wearing brass knuckles."
Now, I like a strong cigar sometimes, and other times I like a nice light "morning smoke," and everything in between But this monster knocked my socks off. I still smoked it down to below the band, becasue it was a very good cigar, and I really like smoking. I put it down once, long enough to go inside, pour a hearty scotch, and come back out.
The draw was a little easy, IMHO for a cigar so powerful and LARGE, I think it was about a 58-60 ring gauge. Maybe 6.5 inches? I don't even remember how long it was. I smoked for around 2.25 hours, I think, give or take a bit.
The burn was a tad uneven for the first two inches, but then evened out pretty nicely. The flavors, strong as they were, were well developed and changed as the huge amount of smoke built up and affected the remainder of the cigar.
It is a little strong for me for almost all occassions, and is definitely not a smoke to be taken lightly. Honestly, I'm not sure I will smoke another, even though it was a good cigar. FOr the money (about 7.50/stick retail), there are other cigars that I enjoy more. On the rare occassions that I have the time and inclination for a powerhouse, there are finer cigars that I enjoy, and save for just such an occassion.

The name is not official, apparently, and they are taking applications for the naming of the cigar, withthe winner getting a trunk of 365 cigars from Camacho. I can't even begin to think of a name for this brute.

ANyone else smoked one?
I'd love to hear someoene else's opinion.

I smoked one at the RTDA show last week. You can read my review here. It is the 3rd or 4th review down the thread.

Interesting. Thanks. We had very different experiences. Might be the size. I had all the smoke I could handle....easily availble, too. I agree about the initial pepper being nearly overwhelming. The flavors did blend and come together nicely after a few inches, though, in mine as well. And, I didn't mention it, but now that I read your review, I also noticed a few soft-spoots develop in the cigar as I smoked it.

I didn't think it was a bad cigar...mine just didn't perform as well as I would have liked. Or as well as I have come to expect from Camacho. I will be smoking more of them to be sure. Mine might have been a bit over-humidified and I know for a fact that it was too young. They will get better.

Like I said in my initial post, I enjoyed it, but when I have the time and incilination for a big, 2+ hour cigar that is that strong, there are other options I would rather pull out of the humidor. Some age will treat it quite nicely, I'm sure. I'm actually taking a walk at lunch today to the shop I picked it up at. I want to get thh exact dimensions of it, as well as thank him for the recommendation...I asked for a big, strong, loing burning cigar I hadn't seen yet. I have a Punch Rare Corojo waiting for the walk...

OK, back from the shop. I smoked the aptly named "Titan" 60 X 6.
Do you know which it wa you smoked? The Rothschild? I could see the masive size difference having QUITE the effect on the smoking characteristics.
