Calibrating Reindeer Hygrometer

After spending a little time on your forums here it has become apparent that digital is the way to go. So I first replaced my analog hygrometer in my humidor with a Xikar digital hydrometer (very accurate and easy to calibrate). I then went to get another for my second humidor, but decided to try a place a little closer to the house, all they had were the square Reindeer type. So thinking all digitals should be similar I picked one up. It reads 38% during the salt test. It gives no instructions on how to calibrate it. Can anyone help me? Otherwise I’ll take it back and drive a little further to get the Xikar Hygrometer.

I only come up with a couple results for Reindeer hygrometer -

Holt's
Google Shopping

Either way, it doesn't appear to be adjustable. In terms of calibration, the salt test method should work. I always use a very small air-tight piece of clear Glad tupperware. You can just "make a note' on how far it's off. But since it's THAT far off, you might want to scrap that idea.

If you want to get a Xikar, might I suggest checking out Cigar Swag - free shipping on what you're looking for.
