Cabaiguan Corona Extra-
This is a cigar made by the Tatuaje guys. It's basically the same size as a Cuban corona gorda. I bought this and many other Tatuaje cigars today from a local cigar shop. It's a nice looking cigar with a light/medium color wrapper. The wrapper is fairly oily with minimal veins.
Taste wise it's a bit peppery/spicy and has some sweet nuttiness on the finish, also an occasional woody flavor. I really enjoyed the rich Nicaraguan flavor of this cigar. It's a bit more complex than the regular Tatuaje line with sweet nutty and creamy tastes coming and going as the cigar is smoked. The spice stays pretty much consistent throughout. Medium bodied
It burned well and had a good draw even though it was a hair wet. I'm going to let the others sit in the humidor for a while and dry out a little.
I think these are just about equal to the Tatuaje's just a bit milder and maybe a little more complex although not extremely complex. I think I like the Tatuaje a little better but these have a more reasonable price. The corona extra cost $8.00 and the Imperial(churchill) was only $8.25.
I could be wrong but it seems to me that both the Caibaiguans and the Tatuajes will age very well, they both have a slight harsh edge that will probably wear off in time.
Highly recommended!
