So, about a year ago, I came to this site, having up until then gotten all of my cigar knowledge from one or two well known cigar magazines and a few shops. I stumbled accross this thing called the newbie sampler. Lucasbuck sent me a wonderful sampler, which helped me further define what I liked, and encouraged many (MANY) purchases. Tonight, I came home from work, and decided that along with my scotch, I would light something I'd either never had, or not smoked in a long time. I was digging through my top singles tray, when I saw this cigar. I thought about it for a second, and I remembered that this was the last surviving member of my newbie sampler!
I don't know how long he had had it, but I think I rememeber him saying that it was a while. I don't know what they smoke like fresh, dut DAMN! This is one tasty little bugger!
It was not the finest cigar in the sampler, which was filled with some really wonderful cigars, and worth FAR FAR more than whatever paltry amount I gave him for them, but was included, if I remember correctly, as an example of some of the flavors I had told him I liked. It is pretty mild, perhaps due to the age, but it a lovely, selively enjoyable maduro, draws perfectly, and is burngin pin-straight with a nice tight ash. perfect for relaxing with a nice gentle campbeltown.
So, thanks Lucasbuck. It's always nice to be reminded that there are some pretty nice smokes out there that you've never heard of (or you've lost in the humidor!)
