Hey all,

Wondering if you could suggest a good box of cigars to be smoked right away besides Padron x000. I'm looking for something that doesn't require any resting/aging and is in the moderate price range..say...$80-100? Perhaps something mild-medium, creamy, yet flavorful. I want to pick a box up for my Bro's surprise 30th b-day bbq for passing around. Did some searching but not sure I was narrowing down my search well enough. If someone knows of a link to a specific thread could you post it? Thanks for the help!

-Greg

edited to add strength/flavor details.

How about Arturo Fuente's Cuban Corona. May be more then 100$ but not sure.

For the money you are talking about, you might consider the following:

Torano Exodus 1959 Gold
Perdomo 2 Ltd Edition Maduro

I am not a fan of either brand, but for the money they are both pretty good and I smoke a couple of them a week. I would suggest getting a 5ver before buying a box. I picked up the Perdomos for $3 each and the Toranos for $3.40 last week. Boxes can be found for your price range.

Good luck,

Ken

x2 on the Exodus 1959---smooth, very Padron-like in the flavor profile, flawless construction, beautifully box-pressed. Not terribly exciting, but a solid and dependable smoke at a great price.

Punch Rare Corojo and Cusano 18 Maduro can both be had in or around your price range as well. Tasty smokes.

How about Oliva O? I would even consider the G. If you are willing to exceed your budget by 15% to 20% the Serie V is a good choice also. I find Olivas to be extremely well priced cigars in terms of value for what you are getting out of the smoke.

Have you seen this thread? It might help you out a bit, I found it not to long ago when I was looking for "yard" gars...

I am in now way qualified to answer this, but i hear Vegas 5 gold is a good mild smoke and can be had for $60ish a box from CI (among others).

Oliva O is an aswome smoke too, but a bit expensive for your price range

Ah, good ol' Mike's thread, by the people, FOR the people!! Great linky 2KT! Bluue, let us know what you decide. You can always ring up Isy at Uptown and tell him what you want and he'll make it work. ;)

Hey all,

A box of Padron 2000 would make a great choice and a nice gift.

Good reading comprehension there sparky.

IMO it is tough to find a good 'creamy medium' smoke in that price range. The decent stuff for that $ seems to be bolder/spicier in flavor, most of the milder stuff falls flat. If it was me I would get a box of Chateau Fuentes in SG/maddie or AF 858 in maduro. If you want to spend a little more a lot of doors open up but imo in the $3-4 per range it doesn't get much better than that.

Short stories? On the high end ($105), but always a great cigar.

Haha aww go easy on Pembroke, he was just excited to help!

I thought it might be a challenge to find what I'm looking for in that price range. I was just being hopeful. Didnt want to spend too much on not regular smokers. Heck, maybe I will spend too much and some people here might benefit from any left overs... :whistling:

Anyway. Ive got a bunch of sticks to look into here. Thanks for all the suggestions and I'll get back to you all with my decision!

Well folks...The choice has been made. I'm going to go with the Oliva Serie G. What a great smoke!

Thanks for the input, everyone!

Very nice choice! I am sure that they will be enjoyed by all.
